Went into the office today and helped Bill with his work by proofreading the new BrightHouse site for him so that hopefully it can be launched this week.
Best typo I found was: (talking about BrightHouse’s concept of The Master Idea) “It’s a company’s raison deter.”
Quince came in with us too and was probably confused that he had got taken out but there were no other dogs at our destination.
Had a nice chat with Nicky when she came online for a bit.
Bill then took me out to a part of Atlanta that is supposed to be the Atlanta equivalent of Rusholme, Little India, for a curry. Wasn’t bad. Had a Paneer Jalfrezi and naan, very tasty paneer, but the sauce had a really disturbing aftertaste. Think it was the chillis, the spiciness wasn’t too bad but they were very hard and had quite a harsh aftertaste.
Bill suffered. There was a distinct lack of water around too, at one point I spotted a jug left on a nearby table which we nabbed, only to have it then abruptly taken away again by the staff. Aaargh! Later Bill was amused when an Indian man at the table across from us also managed to acquire a jug of water, but when the staff tried to whisk it away from him expressed great indignation and managed to hold on to it. Crap, we should have been more outspoken too.
Restaurant looked very like a Rusholme curry house, though a touch more sedate on the neon signage, but not much.
After the meal we decided to see if we could find a DVD we fancied watching and headed over to a store. Wandered around looking at everything but couldn’t decide and came away empty handed.
On the way out of the car park Bill suddenly veered the truck and stopped in his tracks while cursing and swearing. Thought something really awful had happened. Maybe he’d left his green bag in the curry house, or forgotten to do something really important? Took a while to get him to explain, and when he did, the cause of his outburst? Mike Vick has a broken leg!! A fractured fibula to be precise. This means that the Atlanta Falcons Quarterback and best hope for a season victory is out of action for 8-10 weeks. Gah, American Football!! Bill mooched for a good while after that piece of news.
Spent the rest of the evening watching Bill play Neverwinter Nights and Yahoo! Towers while I did some quilting. Made slow progress, but progress indeed.
*yawn* bedtime now.
