Went over to Cadover Bridge this morning with mum and dad to meet nanna, Auntie Karen and Peter (plus his school friend Kurt) and Auntie Jenny. Cadover is an area on the River Plym where you can have picnics and go swimming. Which we did. Well, actually I didn’t personally go into the water, or have any food, but I sailed dad’s boat The African Queen for a bit.
Molly couldn’t come out to play because Peter doesn’t get on with dogs.
On the way home we stopped off at Yelverton for some pasties and found a little spot to eat them in the sun as we drove back to Tavy. Sad to read on a lamp post about a lost dog who ran off this morning because he was afraid of the balloons. Hope his owners find him okay.
Back at the house Mel and I decided to take Molly for a swim so we headed over to Pennycomequick. I was very pleased to see that Molls appears to have lost her fear of the water while I’ve been away. She was a little terror. Had heaps of fun watching her and Mel race around together. (I had to sit and watch because it hurt to go barefoot because of the thistles and gorse prickles on the ground, and I didn’t have a pair of shoes to go in the water with. poop.)
Got to throw Molls sticks though because she was very fair and alternated which of us to return the stick to. We’d throw them across the stream and onto the bank on the other side and she’d dash after them, sometimes not stopping to think and hurtling headlong into the riverbank instead.
Molly goes on the rampage
Just been up onto the Pimple to watch the hot air balloons take off from the school fields in the valley. Counted 28 this time. Sat and watched them with mum, dad and Molly. Best one by far has to be the Virgin balloon shaped like an aeroplane going through some clouds.
Mel behind me is ironing, she warns me that that is what marriage does. Ironing at half eight on a Saturday night. Before you know it she says she’ll be wearing pop socks with granny skirts, and she reckons I’ll be next.
Having a barbecue this evening because the weather has been so nice, course now it has started raining. Typical. Mel has made some mouthwatering potato wedges and a dip though so she’s a star and all will be okay I’m sure.
