Never been so happy to see Ribena!

Hoorah I am the proud owner of:

1 LARGE bottle of Ribena
1 bottle of Robinson’s Lemon Barley Water
1 Double Decker bar
1 Toffee Crisp
1 packet of Sesame Snaps
1 roll of Trebor Extra Strong Mints
1 jar of Patak’s Jalfrezi curry sauce
1 jar of Patak’s Tikka Masala curry sauce, and
1 jar of Chiver’s Thick Cut Marmalade

Whoo hoo!

*bounces with excitement*

We just went for lunch with Paul to a vegetarian curry house, next door to which is an Indian importers which for some reason carries a selection of British gourmet *coughs* food items. I got terribly excited at the sight of Ribena (Sy was tormenting me over the phone last time he was in Blighty by slurping on a glassful within my earshot) and couldn’t resist throwing some proper choccy and marmalade into my basket too. Oh yeah! Almost succumbed to a jar of Branston Pickle but Bill had to drag me out to get back to work.

I’m trying not to think of the cost of my little hoard. It’s making me very happy, so it’s worth it. Yes it is.

Though, I should have probably not got so greedy and scoffed the mints while slurping a glass of Ribena at the same time. Bleargh!

Back in the UK it’s November 5th, and thus of course a special day. For it is the one day every year that all the commoners throng together, light bonfires and burn effigies of that nasty awful Catholic (*goads Bill*) who back in the day tried to burn down the Houses of Parliament. Treason!! Hung drawn and quartered he was for his treachery, and let that be a warning to him.

I like Guy Fawkes night and miss the firework dsplays and the smell of cordite lingering in the chill autumnal air. Hope everyone is having a good time and seeing some cool fireworks. I raise my Toffee Crisp to you.

*ooooooooooooh*

*ahhhhhhhh*

*wheeeeeeeeee*

My sister comes over from holland with the car each year, specifically to buy english goodies 🙂

Ribena is always first on the list too!
They have an ex-pat shop in the Hague, but it can be a bit pricey.

Hope you enjoy your hoard babe 🙂

You should have bought the pickle too – the factory burned down last week, and there are only two weeks supply left.
Though it’s owned by Nestle, so I am happy about this!
