I miss my Daddy. Woke up on Sunday morning and gave him a ring straight away. Had to get past Mum’s “I suppose you are ringing up to speak to your Father? You do know it’s Father’s Day don’t you?” first as she answered the phone. “Yes Mum…it’s Father’s Day here too! That’s why I’m ringing”. I think I passed scrutiny and Dad duly got called in from outside where he was getting all sudsy and washing Mum’s car. That’s definitely a Dad thing…you can’t leave a dirty car on his driveway for long before he reaches for the bucket and sponge.
Hope you had a good day Daddy! Love you a mountain of marmite on toast. Wish I could give you a great big hug.
boo hoo! saying goodbye to Mum and Dad when they visited.
Poor Bill didn’t get to wish his Dad a Happy Father’s Day at the Allen/Leslie get together to Camp Leslie as he had to go to work for the day. Special Envoy Kay loaded up the dogs into the truck and went out to visit the relatives herself. Hee hee I got Quincy really excited before we left by whispering the names of his doggy cousins to him until he was a mess of twirling whining yapping fur.
First though we had to make a trip to the opticians to pick up some glasses, and then to take Bill to work before I was free to make the trip in the truck.
I’m glad we picked up the glasses before we left Atlanta though, even if it did make me late to arrive. Being able to clearly read the fuzzy roadsigns again was quite a relief and made me a lot more confident driving there.
Once at Mary and Hank’s I barely got to say hello to Hank’s parents as they left soon after. Before they left they both said numerous times how sorry they were to miss Mum and Dad when they visited as they found their company “to be a blast”.
Bill’s folks stayed longer, long enough to watch with open eyes as Mary and I gave Quincy a hair cut. Pics to come as soon as I find my misplaced camera. They left as Quincy was looking very freakish mid cut and the back yard was filling up with thick clumps of hair.
The dogs then got their long awaited jaunt to the pond for fun and frolics. Quince seemed a lot more frisky than he usually is in the running department and when in the water enjoyed his usual pastime of swimming to wherever a stone is thrown into the water. I hope he likes his new look, must help to have all that weight off.
Lil Kim and Gingernuts made friends once the fur had settled after the display of barred teeth when we first arrived that afternoon. Lil Kim went from wanting to tear him apart to happily rolling around in the horse poop with him…lovely. (Lil Kim is a Jack Russell Terrier who belongs to Hank and Mary’s neighbours, but has made herself quite at home at Camp Leslie)
Happy Father’s Day to you Daddies Downes and Allen!
