Poor bunny didn't make it through Easter.

Well, I have to say that the journey to Camp Leslie on Easter Sunday seemed far shorter and more uncomfortable than I remembered it thanks to Perdie. Bill and I cruised merrily over to their place with the sun roof open and really enjoyed the drive in our little beauty. I do, however, seem to have caught the sun en route and must remember that hazard in future. Oops.

As you can tell, Sam did not put in his appearance over the weekend and we’re still waiting his entrance with bated breath. Sorry Grandma & Papa but that’s your baby birthday guess out of the running. Dad’s up next with his prediction of the 19th.

Anyway, back to Easter…

Had a thoroughly nice day at the Leslie’s and as usual Mary and Hank were the perfect hosts, putting on a great spread and entertaining everyone with their tales of life in the country and menagerie of animals. The weather was fabulous and we were also able to go out into the paddock to see the two goats headbutt a tree and feed the horses some treats. Unfortunately poor Bobby Goat lost his friend Billy over Christmas (the unlucky fainting goat was possibly kicked by a horse), but now has a new goat friend called Benny who has apparently given him a new lease of life and seems quite happy again.

While we were out enjoying the blossoming garden and land surrounding the house a murderous scene took place. I didn’t see it myself, but apparently Sally the rescue terrier managed to wriggle under the fence and onto the neighbours land where she took down a rabbit that had been left to roam out of his hutch for Easter. Despite the eyewitnesses’ best efforts to rescue him, bunny didn’t make it. Guiltily Mary plugged the hole and decided that the best plan of action was to feign innocence.

As ever I really meant to take some photos of the family so Mumsy and Dadsy could get to see everyone too, but I am simply hopeless at getting people into position and getting the photo taken. I suggested that it would be nice to take a photo of Bill and his parents outside amongst Mary’s beautiful garden, but rounding up subjects is rather like rounding up wayward sheep and a hopeless task for me. I never want to impose and get folks to stand where I can snap them! Always end up so annoyed with myself for missing opportunities.

Here’s the few pics I did snag:

Bill tolling the bell for the Easter bunny.

Bill managed to take a pic of me with his mom and dad.

I caught Mary and Hank outside as everyone was leaving and saying goodbye.

Bill and his sister hang out and watch some telly once everyone has gone.

Okay, update done, I think I’ll be going back to bed now. Tried to sleep earlier but just couldn’t get comfortable. My feet are crazy swollen today and are driving me insane. It’s also beginning to really warm up in Georgia now and I’m really beginning to wilt in the heat. I’m so glad that Sam is due very shortly and I won’t be pregnant during mid summer. Fabulous timing.

Oh, I did see my doctor again today…same as ever, blood pressure good (lower than last week) and my weight is 172lbs which is what it has been for the last fortnight now. Sam’s heart beat is strong and steady, and the doctor is happy with me. She revised her estimated birth weight for Sam to just around 7lbs and says he seems to be a perfect size from what she can tell. She also fussed over my tummy and said what a cute baby he was because he is all out front.

On checking my progress towards labour she discovered I’m roughly another cm dilated so I’m still ticking over nicely apparently. I must admit though that as lovely and nice as my doctor is I am beginning to dislike her examinations because for some reason they seem to hurt a lot more than when the other doctors do it. Hope Sam comes soon so that I don’t have to have too many more examinations from her like that!

    Perdie!

I think you should take Perdie back and get her checked over if she really is more uncomfortable than the truck. There must be something seriously wrong..did you check the tyres were round before you set off? When did the moon roof become a sun roof? Maybe it’s a phase she’s going through?

Glad you’re on schedule for tomorrow, 3 mile run, cod liver oil and a hot bath will help..:) Hee hee
