We’re one week off the due date and I’m overanalysing any little twinge I’m having right now. At my last doctor’s appointment on Thursday I was 3 cm dilated and my doctor told me to go on some long walks to try to get things going. She said she is on call this weekend and she’d be surprised if she didn’t see me at the hospital. Well, looks like Bea is going to prove her wrong. Stubborn little thing. I guess there will be no new granddaughter for the grandparents on National Grandparents’ Day!
After going to the doctor’s on Thursday I took Sam to the zoo where we met Tricia and Connor. Sam wore me out and if chasing him around that place didn’t bring on labour I’m not sure what will!
I went a little crazy on Friday and made a big push to try to get things ready for Bea. Stupidly I was up in the attic pulling things down and putting things up, and hauling furniture around. I did manage to make room for the cot in the office and get the changing table/chest of drawers in there too, as well as shift the big bookcase across the room and cull a lot of things. There’s also now a space for the pack and play to go next to our bed which I am relieved about. I’m still stressing about lack of storage space and not having a crib mattress for Bea because Sam is still using his though. Been scouring Craigslist looking to upgrade Sam to a twin captain’s bed but have had no luck so far.
This morning I had a shock when I woke up and reached for Ed. Just before my hand touched it I spotted a spider hanging out on the clasp. Was pretty stunned to see it was a black widow. What the hell is black widow doing in our office? on my laptop? right next to my feet?! I caught it to show Bill when he woke up lest he think I was crazy. He’s now squished and disposed of it for me. My hero.
