I’m watching Sam open the coat cupboard and take the expired ticket from this morning’s journey from my coat pocket. Wearing just his underpants and a t-shirt he is struggling to put his Paddington Bear duffle coat on top.
OK, he has that sussed.
He’s now found his shoes and is telling me he needs socks. He’s gone to his room to find some.
Hmm I really think he intends to leave the house, walk to the station in the dark and get on a train. He’s quite insistently telling me that he “needs to ride train!” “Need shoes, Mummy, ride train now.” He’s clutching my ticket and muttering about the trains.
He’s now pulling my slippers off and trying to put my trainers on my feet. I suppose I am grateful that at least he isn’t planning to find the trains on his own.
