At least, I believe it is the 27th July in Australia? Hope so, because the 27th is a very good day, most auspicious. For me at least. Sam was born on the 27th April 2006 and now I am thrilled to hear that his little Australian cousin was welcomed to the world on a 27th of the month too. A little niece for me, and a perfect little daughter for Sy and Melly. Fantastic. Big congratulations Downes Under.
No name as yet, and we are waiting eagerly to hear what she will be called. My little brother and his wife were so convinced that their baby was going to be a boy that they didn’t have any girl names up their sleeves. I can’t quite fathom that, I mean, if you have decided not to find out which sex your baby would be wouldn’t you come up with some alternatives? Funny, I’m finding that quite amusing…Sy, we saw a little springer spaniel at the Cornwall donkey sanctuary the other day, goes by Tegan, supposedly Cornish for “pretty little thing.” 😉
Nanna cracked open the bubbly this evening when I got home from the far and we all toasted the Australian wing and the newest Downes, even Sam and Bea. Very much looking forward to raising another glass to my beautiful little niece once her name is unveiled.
Super to see photos of the little one surfacing on Facebook already, that’s quite something really, and so wonderful. She’s so many thousands of miles away and yet we can view her fresh little face ourselves so soon after birth. Thanks for posting those Sy.
Here’s wishing Melly, the new mum, a moment of serenity after her good work, and a long quiet breath to get acquainted with her daughter. Sy…good luck!
